Hokkaido Touring Day 2: Cycling Along The Southern Coast

English | 日本語
I waked up 6:30 and leave at 7:00, my feeling was good but it was raining outside. I stopped at a coin laundry (full automatic washing and drying machines) to wash yesterday's bike clothes (about 1 hour 600 jpy).
After a while, the rain stops and the scenery becomes typical of Hokkaido. However, there is a slight headwind.
I saw horses in the farm, wild deer, and other full of nature sights I won't see in Tokyo.
The Barley Travoy trailer I'm towing is a two-wheeled trailer. If the ruts and bumps in the road cause it to lose the balance from side to side, it sometimes rolls over. Not that it's going to break, but by the time I stop my bike, the bag will have rubbed against the road and punched a hole in it as this picture. It happens. In these cases, I put waterproof duct tape on to provide first aid.
I arrived at the "New Hidaka Information Space" around 4 pm. This is a hut offered by a local company to travelers free of charge, and I was grateful for the opportunity to use it. However, the cell phone signal was bad and I couldn't connect to the internet here. I took a walk outside and got connected 500 m far from here. Well, there is no problem even if I can't use the internet for a night or so.
I bought some octopus on the way, so I made sashimi and octopus peperoncino tonight (*not yet I wasn't Vegan at this time). There was another bicycle tourist at the inn, and he is in the middle of circling clockwise (I'm going counter clockwise). By the way I saw 3 cyclists in the opposite direction today on the road. Which would be more mainstream around? He had been to Europe before, so we talked about bicycle touring a lot and went to bed early at 10 pm.
